Coin Quilt

My first quilt of 2012 was this coin quilt. It was so simple and easy to make and took me 2 weeks to do start to finish. It is lap sized but apparently I didn't take any notes down about this quilt so I don't know the measurements. The fabric is a Jelly Roll I got on clearance at Joann's, I had been watching (stalking) for it to go on sale so I was very happy to see it in clearance. I used some tan for in-between the stacked coins and some brown for the binding.

I started this quilt just to make a quilt, to start on my goal, but as I worked on it the colors and the prints reminded me so much of my Grandma that I knew that's where it needed to go. The prints were filled with floral, vines and butterflies which reminded me of the many trips we would take to gardens, nature centers, and the beach. So to Grandmother's house it went.

I think it's right at home, wouldn't you agree?
